Holography, brane intersections and six-dimensional SCFTs
We study supersymmetric intersections of NS5-, D6and D8-branes in type IIA string theory. We focus on the supergravity description of this system and identify a “near horizon” limit in which we recover the recently classified supersymmetric seven-dimensional AdS solutions of massive type IIA supergravity. Using a consistent truncation to sevendimensional gauged supergravity we construct a unive...
متن کاملComputational and Programming Aspects of Transition Elements in a Three-dimensional Finite Element Program
The performance of any finite element (FE) structural analysis is directly related to the global number of nodes and degrees of freedom (DOF) of the discretized structure and mesh distribution attributes. It is obvious that the appropriate numerical analysis needs finer elements in the zone of interest, e.g. zone of high stress concentration and intensity, and coarser elements for farther porti...
متن کاملTwisted Elliptic Genera of N = 2 SCFTs in Two Dimensions
The elliptic genera of two-dimensional N = 2 superconformal field theories can be twisted by the action of the integral Heisenberg group if their U(1) charges are fractional. The basic properties of the resulting twisted elliptic genera and the associated twisted Witten indices are investigated with due attention to their behaviors in orbifoldization. Our findings are illustrated by and applied...
متن کاملExact Anomalous Dimensions for N = 2 ADE SCFTs
We consider four-dimensional N = 2 superconformal field theories based on ADE quiver diagrams. We use the procedure of hep-th/0206079 and compute the exact anomalous dimensions of operators with large U(1)R charge to all orders in perturbation in the planar limit. The results are in agreement with the string computation in the dual pp-wave backgrounds.
متن کاملOn deformations of 2d SCFTs
Motivated by the representation of the super Virasoro constraints as generalized Dirac-Kähler constraints (d±d†) |ψ〉 = 0 on loop space, examples of the most general continuous deformations d → e−W d e are considered which preserve the superconformal algebra at the level of Poisson brackets. The deformations which induce the massless NS and NS-NS backgrounds are exhibited. A further 2-form backg...
